Struggle to Forgive

If you missed Sunday’s Sermon

Read or listen to Forgiveness – Holding On Keeps Us From Moving On (Freeway, Week 4)

Devotion 3

The past two days, we have reflected on the questions we chase when we are hurt, the risk it takes to forgive and surrendering these things to God as part of the path to forgiveness. Today, spend some time trying to draw out something that you are having in a hard time forgiving (could involve people, situations, feelings, words, etc). Just try to draw it through whatever shapes, colors, pictures, or words that come to you when you think about it. Don’t worry about what you put on paper, just put something on the paper to represent the thing you are struggling to forgive.

Any insights about that thing or your struggle or your feelings or whatever based on what you drew? Forgiveness can be a struggle. Drawing or naming the struggle can help. Spend some time reflecting on what you drew and offer it to God in prayer.

If there is more than one thing you are struggling to give (in truth there always more than one, right?), then spend some time drawing that one out too! Reflect and pray over it as well.
