Merry Christmas!

Church Family,

Merry Christmas!  Our worship has centered around Drawing Near to God through the life of the Christ Child.  I was most moved by the Sunday that we focused on Drawing Near to Wonder.  We adorned our sanctuary with beautiful decorations and when we were finished, the worship space was truly a “wonder to behold.”  And the beauty of our sanctuary pointed us to sit in wonder Jesus Christ coming to earth again.  Advent is a time of preparing for Christ to enter our lives again and so we are left we the wonder that we can meet this Christ child yet again!

This particular theme struck me because I truly have been in wonder at all the amazing things God is doing through this congregation.  Our church as been full of life and love in 2018.  We have, quite frankly, been busy…and it is a beautiful thing. Thank you for the many ways you have reached out to our community. We are in wonder at what our congregation can do.  When serving with God’s truth and grace, we witness the wonders of God’s love.

He rules the world with truth and grace,
And makes the nations prove
The glories of His righteousness,
And wonders of His love,
And wonders of His love,
And wonders, wonders, of His love.

We encourage you to take time and reflect on your own experiences in 2018.  Consider how God has moved in your life.  We also encourage you to consider how you may continue to contribute to the life, ministry, and vision of Hood Memorial Christian Church as the year comes to an end and as we begin a new year of ministry together.  Are there ways you and your family can get involved together?  Do you want to be more involved in a small group?  Have you considered your financial commitment for the end of this year and 2019?  To what ministries has called you in 2019?

Thank you again for allowing God’s spirit to move through each one in this church family.  Our prayer is that we will continue to look for God’s wonders together.

Shalom,
Jason & Joanie
