Tempo

Matthew 11:28-30

Come to me, all you that are weary and are carrying heavy burdens, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me; for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.

Reflect:  What is your tempo? We discover that each of us has a tempo that fits well, that energizes us. What tempo gives you life and energy? What tempo of life feels toxic to you? What is the cost?

Reflect and Practice: In worship, we have begun taking a deep breath.  Find a “prayer chair” in your home or office and practice a daily routine of rest. Practice silence in your prayer chair each day.  Carve out space each day for time to be with God.  Spend time breathing, recognizing your tempo. Offer prayers of confession, listen to words of assurance from scripture, offer your petitions before God.
