Hosanna! Save Us!
Then those who went ahead and those who followed were shouting,
Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord.
Blessed is the coming kingdom of our ancestor David.
Hosanna in the highest heaven.”
Reflect: What in your life feels like it is pressing down upon you? Are there outside forces? Are there ideas, thoughts, or beliefs within you pressing you down? What forces can you see that are pressing others down? And could there be some you do not see?
Reflect: What does rest and release from those oppressive forces look like for you? What would it take to release yourself and/or others from the forces you named?
Practice: Try letting go of some idea, thought, or belief that is pressing you down and creating unhealthy burden in your life. Pray about it (Hosanna!). Do something that works against it. Start thinking in new ways! And consider how you can help release others from the forces pressing them down.
The Bible is more revelatory, revolutionary, and relevant than you ever imagined. But too often people butcher it with stilted literalism and stifling interpretations. Join us this Tuesday at 6:15 as pastor/author Rob Bell’s “What is the Bible?” helps us discover how the Bible has more to offer than you ever imagined!
