Sunday morning, I witnessed the worship of God with new eyes. I watched young children play instruments and dance while the congregation lifted their voices singing “Beautiful words, wonderful words, wonderful words of life…” It was perhaps a glimpse of the kingdom of heaven where adults and children are all worshipping God together…in their own unique expressions. After lunch on Sunday, parents, grandparents, and leaders of our young children gathered to discuss directions we would like to go with our ministry to children and families and how we can best reach out......
I enjoy gardening. In fact, I enjoy it enough that for the past several years prior to moving back home to the Wake-Harnett County area, I lived on an old farm that Joanie and I were restoring along with some other folks from the Charlotte area. We gardened mostly by hand – no big equipment – and mostly using permaculture principles – so no fertilizer, no eletric irrigation, no pesticides…you get the idea. Gardening in this way, we had to pay more attention to bugs and find natural ways of warding them......
