Join us on the front steps of Hood MCC for Come To The Table: A Live Last Supper from 7:00 pm – 7:30 pm on March 29 and 30. The show is filled with drama, music and the story of one of Jesus’ final meals with his disciples where together they broke bread, drank wine and washed feet. Scenes from famous paintings, including Leonardo Da Vinci’s The Last Supper and Ford Madox Brown’s Jesus Washing Peter’s Feet, will be recreated on the front steps of our church building. Bring your camera for great living pictures!
What is a Live Last Supper?
Think about all the Live Nativity portrayals during the Advent and Christmas season. Now imagine such an event during the season of Lent as we prepare for Easter. One of the climactic moments for Jesus and his disciples (and for the church today!) occurs in an upper room one evening as Jesus leads his brothers and sisters in a meal of bread and wine (story found in the Gospels of Matthew, Mark, and Luke) and serves them by washing their feet (story found in the Gospel of John). Our Live Last Supper will be a 25 minute portrayal of these scenes using dramatic recreations of famous paintings outside on the front steps of Hood Memorial Christian Church. Communion will be served at the conclusion of the 25 minute program (we welcome everyone to the Lord’s Table as God has welcomed us.).
