Come To The Table: A Live Last Supper

Join us on the front steps of Hood MCC for Come To The Table: A Live Last Supper from 7:00 pm - 7:30 pm on March 29 and 30. The show is filled with drama, music and the story of one of Jesus' final meals with his disciples where together they broke bread, drank wine and washed feet. Scenes from famous paintings, including Leonardo Da Vinci's The Last Supper and Ford Madox Brown's Jesus Washing Peter's Feet, will be recreated on the front steps of our church building. Bring your camera for great living pictures! What is a Live Last Supper? Think about all the Live Nativity portrayals during the Advent and Christmas season. Now imagine such an event during the season of Lent as we prepare for Easter. One of the climactic moments for Jesus and his disciples (and for the church today!) occurs in an upper room one evening as Jesus leads his brothers and sisters in a meal of bread and wine (story found in the Gospels of Matthew, Mark, and Luke) and serves them by washing their feet (story found in the Gospel of John). Our Live Last Supper will be a 25 minute portrayal of these scenes using dramatic recreations of famous paintings outside on the front steps of Hood Memorial Christian Church. Communion will be served at the conclusion of the 25 minute program (we welcome everyone to the Lord's Table as God has welcomed us.).

Gathering for Healing & Wholeness

Come all who are weary... Have you experienced a loss over the past few months or year? Sure, you're trying to move on through the daily routine of work and busy-ness. Yet, do you have a sense that deep down you are still trying to recover from an experience of loss or hurt? Maybe you - like me (Pastor Jason) - need to tend to your heart, mind, and soul. Maybe healing is still needed. Maybe there are still some seeds of hope that need planting. Maybe there is a place of wholeness right around the corner if you give some attention to the empty and fragmented places of your heart. Hope and wholeness will come if we take time to heal. We invite you to join our family of faith Sunday morning (July 22) at 11:00 am for a time of healing, hope and wholeness. This is not your regular church service. This is something else...something special...something for you...something for God. This is a time to rebandage your wounds so that you can continue to heal. This is a time to allow God to kiss your broken heart and whisper healing over your soul.
