Devotion 1
Let’s do some pretending for a few moments – the kind of imaginative pretending of your childhood! Imagine that your are a space explorer. (In celebration of the new Star Trek: Discovery just came out this week, if for no other reason!) And let’s pretend that you just landed your ship on a planet called “You.” (work with me here, okay! The planet IS you!)
What do you need to explore on this planet?
And who can help you on this mission?
Is there anything on this planet that looks out of place? Anything that feels uncomfortable?
Is there anything on this planet that feels broken? Take some time to circle, check boxes, or write down your answers.
Reflect on your answers. Take a moment to explain why these things feel broken. Do a little exploring, ask some “Why” questions of yourself, and pay attention to what you discover.
Before you stop, lift your answers and reflections to God. What do you want to say to God about them? What might God be saying to you about your answers?
