Advent Service Opportunities
“Look, the virgin shall conceive and bear a son, and they shall name him Emmanuel,” which means “God with us.”
Matthew 1:23
Annual Meeting Update
Thank you to everyone who participated in the Annual Meeting process this year. We wanted to announce that the Budget for 2021 passed, as well as the deacons, elders, and officers that were nominated. Thank you again for your flexibility in making sure the matters of our church were handled in a timely and safe manner.
Hygiene Kits
We are collecting hygiene items for our neighbors this year. We are making about 25 hygiene kits to give as a Christmas gift to some of neighbors in need. We would love everyone to participate by purchasing 2-3 of the items listed below. With everyone’s help, we can brighten someone’s Christmas. Collection boxes for these items are located just inside the Main Entrance door. Please bring items to the church by Sunday, December 20. Items needed include:
- Washcloths
- Lotion
- Bodywash or Soap
- Handsoap
- Hand Sanitizer
- Shampoo
- Wide tooth combs
- Shaving cream
Volunteers Needed
The DUMA food pantry will be open for the last distribution before Christmas on Tuesday, December 22nd. We need lots of volunteers to help us with food distribution. Volunteers are needed between the hours of 9:00 am and 2:00 pm. Masks and gloves are required and volunteers can remain six foot apart. All neighbors that are picking up food will remain in their cars and food will be given to them outside. Please consider sharing at least an hour or two with us next week. What a great way to celebrate Christmas—finding Christ by helping our neighbors in Dunn, NC.
Say Cheese!
Still need a family photo for Christmas? Look no further…
The church sanctuary will be open this Sunday, December 20th after worship from 12:00 noon to 2:00 pm. You are welcome to bring your family, your phone or camera and gather around the Chrismon tree for a family picture.
Also, for the kids…Santa will be out by the gazebo with his reindeer! (Also from 12 noon to 2:00 pm). Kids are invited to sit on the reindeer and have their picture made with Santa and even share their wishes with him.
Outdoor Christmas Eve Service
Make plans to join us on Christmas Eve, December 24th for an outdoor candlelight service. We will worship by the gazebo. You are welcome to drive up and tune in to the radio or bring a chair and join us on the grass. Worship will begin at 4:30 pm and will include communion and candlelight. Make this service part of your Christmas tradition as we gather to remember the light that came into the world—Jesus Christ.
