February is for Each Other
As soon as they left the synagogue, they entered the house of Simon and Andrew, with James and John. Now Simon’s mother-in-law was in bed with a fever, and they told him about her at once. He came and took her by the hand and lifted her up. Then the fever left her, and she began to serve them.
Mark 1:29-31
Sunday, Pastor Jason reminded us of the importance of touch in Jesus’ healings. In this story, Simon’s mother-in-law was healed when Jesus took her by the hand. Touch comes in so many ways, a touch of the hand, a hug, touching words, touching actions, touching prayers, touching presence. The power of touch is most evident in a church family, where we touch one another with our very presence together. We are there to pray for each other, support one another, provide for one another, walk the journey with one another. What a gift the family of God is in our journey towards healing!
