Church Family, Merry Christmas! Our worship has centered around Drawing Near to God through the life of the Christ Child. I was most moved by the Sunday that we focused on Drawing Near to Wonder. We adorned our sanctuary with beautiful decorations and when we were finished, the worship space was truly a “wonder to behold.” And the beauty of our sanctuary pointed us to sit in wonder Jesus Christ coming to earth again. Advent is a time of preparing for Christ to enter our lives again and so we are left......

God weaves life together in unexpected ways to create something beautiful. About five years ago, we met a young man who was beginning an internship with our non-profit ministry in Charlotte. Upon meeting him for the first time, Joanie asked, “Where are you from?” “Dunn,” he responded. “Where?” “Dunn, North Carolina.” “Where’s that?” While Jason knew the answer, Joanie learned about Dunn for the first time. Neither of us, at that time, could have imagined that we would worship in a church in Dunn, NC, much less be called there as co-pastors. Yet......
Sunday morning, I witnessed the worship of God with new eyes. I watched young children play instruments and dance while the congregation lifted their voices singing “Beautiful words, wonderful words, wonderful words of life…” It was perhaps a glimpse of the kingdom of heaven where adults and children are all worshipping God together…in their own unique expressions. After lunch on Sunday, parents, grandparents, and leaders of our young children gathered to discuss directions we would like to go with our ministry to children and families and how we can best reach out......
