One of my favorite slogans adopted by Disciples of Christ is this: In Essentials Unity, In Non-Essentials Liberty, In All Things Charity* * Charity is sometimes replaced with the word Love: In essentials unity, in non-essentials liberty, in all things love. This saying dates back to at least the 1600s in Germany among Lutheran and Reformed Christians.
