November is Here
Have mercy on me, O God,
according to your steadfast love;
according to your abundant mercy,
blot out my transgressions.
Wash me thoroughly from my iniquity,
and cleanse me from my sin.
For I know my transgressions,
and my sin is ever before me.
Against you, you alone, have I sinned
and done what is evil in your sight,
so that you are justified in your sentence
and blameless when you pass judgment.
Indeed, I was born guilty,
a sinner when my mother conceived me.
You desire truth in the inward being;
therefore teach me wisdom in my secret heart.
Purge me with hyssop, and I shall be clean;
wash me, and I shall be whiter than snow.
Let me hear joy and gladness;
let the bones that you have crushed rejoice.
Hide your face from my sins,
and blot out all my iniquities.
-Psalm 51:1-9 (NRSV)
Last Sunday, Jason shared that sometimes we need a bigger towel. Sometimes we need a bigger towel to cover our own sins & mistakes. Sometimes we need a bigger towel to serve others. The power of Jesus’ message moves us from our own mistakes to service of others. To hear more, click on the link below to catch Sunday’s service:
This Saturday, we will be on the streets of Dunn sharing our message and vision of God’s love for all people. Will you come and share an hour or two with us? We will giving out balloons to young visitors, sharing about our upcoming events, praying with folks, and extending God’s love to our community. This event has not been held for a couple of years due to COVID, so we expect a large event with lots of guests. Our tent will be located on East Broad Street, just in front of the Organic Butcher Shop. Contact Pastor Joanie if you have any questions.
