In this week’s segment of the Lord’s Prayer, Adam Hamilton reminds us that when we pray the Lord’s Prayer, we pray “Thine, not mine”. In the last section, or doxology, of the Lord’s Prayer that was likely added by the early church, we give God all the glory and attribute all the power to God. We again put ourselves and aside and put God first.

Week of Compassion Offering
From the Week of Compassion website: Week of Compassion is more than a week. It is a ministry of the whole Church, reaching those in need “around the world, around the year.” Any time we respond to a need in the world, we bear witness to the unity of our table, faithfully sharing the gifts that we have as an expression of Christ’s love. In working together with partners, we represent the Disciples of Christ commitment to unity, making our resources reach farther and growing our impact on a global scale.
We will be collecting the Week of Compassion offering this week. Please consider your gift to this relief fund of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ). Our church has received a grant for Ladles of Love through this ministry. Funds have also come to NC for disaster relief from damages due to hurricanes. All donations go directly to serving those in need.
