The Lord’s Prayer- Part 2

And he said unto them, when ye pray, say, Our Father, which art in heaven, hallowed be Thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done, as in heaven, so on earth.

Luke 11:2 (KJV)

This is the second week of our Bible study on the Lord‘s prayer. Join us in watching the second part of this series by Adam Hamilton. This week he talks about the second phrase of the prayer by kingdom come, they will be done on earth as it is in heaven. I was particularly drawn to his reflection on making sure we pray for God‘s will and not our will. I believe sometimes we get those confused. It’s important to keep God‘s will at the forefront of our prayers and this, our lives.

  • What does God’s kingdom look like on earth?
  • How have you seen God’s kingdom lived out on earth?
  • It is hard to pray for God’s will to be done when things are dark and uneasy. Think about a time in your life where you prayed for God’s will to be done even when you couldn’t see it.
