Graduate Recognition

We will take a few moments during worship this Sunday, June 7th and recognize our graduates or students of any level that have met a milestone.  We will recognize Preschool graduates, Kindergarten graduates, 5th grade graduates, Middle School graduates, High School graduates, College gradutes, Post-grad graduates and any others that have completed trainings, certificates, or other educational milestones.

If there is someone in your family that has “graduated” since last June, please let us know.  We would love to include them in our recognition.

You can email the church at hoodmemorial@gmail.com or you can contact Pastor Joanie by phone or text (919-632-0969).

Upcoming Events

  • Worship will begin at 9:30 AM each Sunday throughout the Summer.  The new time begins this Sunday, June 7, 2020.  The board voted to change the time to prevent being outside when temperatures get hotter.
  • We encourage you to choose the option for worship that works best for your family. We will still provide the following options for worship:
    1. Outdoor worship: bring a lawn chair, pop-up tent, or blanket and join us on the new lot next to the gazebo.
    2. Drive-in worship:  deacons are available to show you where to park so that you can remain in your car and tune in to a local FM station to hear the service.
    3. Facebook Live:  we will be streaming live beginning at 9:30 am.
    4. Free Conference Call:  join us via phone (563) 999-1222 or using a computer or mobile device join.freeconferencecall.com/hoodchurch
  • John Johnson will be leading a new book study beginning this Sunday on the book All In by Mark Batteson.  Join us on Sunday, June 7 at 6:00 PM.  You may join us in the Fellowship Hall (following our safety procedures) or on Free Conference Call. If you need a book, please contact Pastor Jason (919-417-0179) and we will get one to you.
  • This Sunday, June 7th, we will provide a time of Organ Music and meditation in our sanctuary at 5:30 PM.  We have all missed being in our sanctuary for worship with the beautiful stained glass windows and pipe organ music.  This week, we will provide a 20-25 minute time for you to come and sit in the sanctuary as Colton Barber plays the organ.  We will have scriptures and prayers for you to meditate on.  Following guidelines, we will allow 10 people in the sanctuary at a time, ask you to sit at least 6 foot from others, and wear a mask.  We look forward to this time of prayer and reflection in our sanctuary space.
  • The Ladles of Love Ministry providing meals to the residents of the Cottondale Apartments continues each Thursday.  If you wish to participate or contribute food, please contact Beulah Pope.  If you wish to help deliver, please arrive at the church parking lot at 10:00 AM.
  • Join us each Tuesday at the DUMA food pantry as we begin serving our community each week through the summer. The Food Pantry is open this Tuesday, June 2nd from 9:00 am – 2:00 pm. Please consider volunteering!
